About

Curb Cut is written by Christopher Phillips and focuses on accessibility, disability and openness. A lifelong disability advocate, I now work as a web product manager for an international non-profit organization. I have also worked as a special educator, instructional designer and as a volunteer for various disability related organizations.

I started down this road early when my younger brother Patrick was born with Down syndrome just 11 months after me. The doctor who delivered him told my parents they should place him in an Institution. They didn't even consider it. A second brother, Dallin Paul was adopted some years later when his birth parents decided they didn't want a baby with Down syndrome.

Disability has always been such an integral part of my life that it still baffles me to see some people who refuse to allow it to be any part of theirs. I usually say something when people use the word 'retard' and aspire to one day work on my disability hobby projects full-time. Enjoy Curb Cut.
